1. Introduction and Acceptance
Welcome to Bahasa Ibu (BaIbu), operated by Ibu Punya Mimpi. By accessing or using our platform, mobile application, or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
Who We Are: Bahasa Ibu is a social venture that empowers Indonesian mothers to contribute linguistic data for ethical AI development while earning fair compensation.
What These Terms Cover: Your rights and responsibilities as a contributor, how we compensate you, data ownership, and how disputes are resolved.
Language: These Terms are provided in English and Bahasa Indonesia. In case of conflict, the Bahasa Indonesia version prevails.
2. Eligibility
To participate as a contributor, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a resident of Indonesia
- Have legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
- Provide accurate registration information
- Have a valid e-wallet account (GoPay or other supported payment method)
- Agree to our Privacy Policy and data handling practices
Verification: We reserve the right to verify your identity and eligibility at any time.
3. Account Registration and Security
Creating Your Account:
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- One person may only maintain one active contributor account
Account Termination:
You may close your account at any time by contacting support. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. How Contribution Works
What You Can Submit:
- Original text in Bahasa Indonesia, Javanese, Sundanese, Balinese, or other Indonesian languages
- Personal conversations (with consent of all parties if applicable)
- Stories, narratives, and written content you have rights to share
- Transcriptions of spoken language
What You Cannot Submit:
- Content you don't have rights to share
- Copyrighted material without permission
- Content containing illegal activity or promoting harm
- Hate speech, discriminatory content, or harassment
- Sexually explicit content involving minors
- Spam or deliberately low-quality submissions
- Content that violates others' privacy without proper consent
Quality Standards:
- Submissions must be genuine, natural language (not artificially generated)
- Text must be readable and coherent
- Minimum length requirements may apply (specified in the app)
- Submissions must match the domain categories selected
5. Compensation and Payment
How You Earn:
- You are paid per validated contribution
- Payment rates are displayed clearly in the app before submission
- Rates may vary based on language, domain, and quality
- Bonuses may be offered for high-quality or specialized contributions
Payment Process:
- Earnings are calculated after validation (typically within 48-72 hours)
- Payments are processed to your registered e-wallet
- Payment frequency: upon reaching minimum threshold
- Minimum payout threshold: IDR 50,000
Taxes:
- You are responsible for any applicable taxes on your earnings
- We will provide earning statements to assist with tax compliance
- For earnings above the reporting threshold, we may be required to report to tax authorities
Payment Disputes:
If you believe a submission was incorrectly rejected or undervalued, you may appeal within 14 days through our dispute resolution process.
6. Intellectual Property and Data Rights
Your Content:
- You retain copyright in your original submissions
- You grant Bahasa Ibu a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license to use, modify, and distribute your contributed data for AI training purposes
- This license includes the right to sublicense to our research and commercial partners
- You waive any moral rights that would prevent us from modifying or anonymizing your content
Anonymization:
- All personally identifiable information (PII) is removed before data is used or shared
- Once anonymized, the data is no longer attributable to you personally
- You cannot withdraw contributions after they have been anonymized and integrated into datasets
Our Platform:
- All platform technology, design, and features are owned by Bahasa Ibu/Ibu Punya Mimpi
- You may not copy, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of our platform
- "Bahasa Ibu," "BaIbu," and related trademarks are our property
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is critical to us. Our data practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Key Commitments:
- We automatically remove PII from all contributions
- Your personal account information is stored securely and separately from contributed data
- We never sell your personal information
- You can request your account data at any time

Chat Product Terms
- Access to the chat product on chat.baibu.id requires explicit consent to training use
- Authorized staff may review chat conversations for operations, quality, and safety
- We attempt to remove personally identifiable information from chat material before training use
- You may later request deletion of chat data through our support process
- If you withdraw chat consent, access to the chat product is removed until you consent again
8. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or artificially generated content
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent rules or earn duplicate payments
- Attempt to manipulate, reverse engineer, or hack our systems
- Share your account credentials with others
- Copy or scrape content from our platform
- Use the platform for any illegal purpose
- Interfere with other contributors' use of the platform
- Submit content that infringes others' rights
Consequences: Violations may result in account suspension, earnings forfeiture, and legal action.
9. Quality Control and Validation
Our Review Process:
- Submissions undergo automated and manual review
- We check for quality, authenticity, and compliance with guidelines
- We may reject submissions that don't meet our standards
- Repeated low-quality submissions may result in account review
Appeals:
You may appeal rejection decisions within 14 days by contacting support with a detailed explanation.
10. Community Guidelines
As a contributor, you're part of a supportive community:
- Treat staff and fellow contributors with respect
- Participate honestly in training and feedback sessions
- Report any technical issues or concerns promptly
- Share knowledge to help other contributors succeed
- Respect the confidential nature of unreleased platform features
Community Hubs (Rumah Data Ibu):
When visiting physical hubs, you agree to follow on-site rules, treat equipment respectfully, and maintain a safe environment for all.
11. Warranties and Disclaimers
Our Platform:
The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
- Any specific earning potential
- Acceptance of all submissions
- Availability in all regions of Indonesia
Your Responsibilities:
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of your submissions
- You warrant that you have all necessary rights to submit content
- You warrant that your submissions don't violate any laws or third-party rights
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indonesian law:
- Bahasa Ibu's total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid to you in the 3 months preceding the claim
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
- We are not liable for losses resulting from your breach of these Terms
- We are not liable for issues with third-party services (e.g., e-wallet providers)
Exceptions: Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death/personal injury caused by our negligence.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bahasa Ibu, Ibu Punya Mimpi, and our partners from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
- Your submissions or content
- Your use of the platform
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via:
- Email to your registered address
- In-app notification
- Notice on our website
Your Options:
- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
- If you don't agree with changes, you may close your account
- Changes apply to future contributions; existing agreements remain governed by previous Terms
15. Termination
By You:
You may terminate your account at any time. You will be paid for all validated contributions up to termination.
By Us:
We may terminate or suspend your account for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraudulent activity
- Extended inactivity (after notice)
- Legal or regulatory requirements
Effect of Termination:
- Your license to use the platform ends immediately
- Our license to use your anonymized contributions continues
- Earned but unpaid compensation will be paid according to our standard schedule
- You remain bound by provisions that logically survive termination (IP rights, indemnification, etc.)
16. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution:
Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at support@baibu.id to attempt informal resolution for at least 30 days.
Governing Law:
These Terms are governed by the laws of Indonesia.
Arbitration:
Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of BANI (Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia), conducted in Bahasa Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Exceptions:
Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or confidentiality breaches.
Class Action Waiver:
You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of any class or collective action.
17. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bahasa Ibu.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment: We may assign these Terms to a successor entity. You may not assign your account or obligations.
- Force Majeure: We're not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
- Relationship: These Terms don't create a partnership, employment, or agency relationship. Contributors are independent contractors.
